Does KerfCase offer custom engraving?
Yes. KerfCase can use an industrial laser CNC machine to engrave custom text and images onto your case.

What does engraved text look like? Can I specify placement and typeface?
By default, we engrave your custom text EXACTLY as specified during checkout, centered at the bottom of the back side of the case, using the Copperplate typeface. See the image below for an example of our custom text engraving.
If you would like us to change the placement or look of the text, please email us. Depending on the adjustments, we may quote you an amount exceeding the standard text engraving charge.
Can I engrave a unicode emoticon as custom text? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Our laser machine can only recognize letters, numbers, and basic punctuation as text. Anything else must be turned into an image. Please select "Custom Image" if you would like nonstandard text engraved.
What kind of image can I engrave?
We can accept image files of just about any type, from Adobe Illustrator to JPEG.
Our laser engraving machine works best with simple vector art, such as logos. Complex illustrations and photographs are not well-suited to our engraving process. If you have questions about a particular image, please email us.
How big can the engraving be?
The box in the image above denotes the size of the area that we can engrave, and the default position of the engraving, unless specified otherwise. If you would like the engraving positioned differently, or would like it to be larger, please email us. We will quote more than the standard engraving charge for larger engravings.
Can I see what my engraving will look like before it goes on the case?
We can provide one mockup for free in which you will see the proportion and placement of your image on the back of your case. You can request this by email.
Can you help me design an image?
Unfortunately we do not have the resources to assist in the design of an image. We can only take a completed image and engrave it as is. Collages, engravings on other phone cases, and edited images beyond simple cropping, are beyond our ability.
Can I get a sports logo engraved on my phone case?
We cannot engrave licensed logos on our cases. Doing so would open us up to a lot of legal action. If you are able to create or commission an illustration based on licensed art, we may be able to engrave that on a case by case basis. Please email us with further questions.
Can I return my customized case?
We can only provide returns and refunds for items that we can resell. If you purchase a customized item, the sale is final. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please reach out to us by email and we will go over your options.
